Napoli's Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has enjoyed a stellar season in Italy and MEN Sport understands he is on Erik ten Hag's radar.

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen's side claim reports about his future have been decided to be untrue.

Osimhen has had a brilliant season for the Serie A leaders. After 32 appearances, the 24-year-old has scored 26 goals, which has attracted interest from further away.

MEN Sport understands that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is Erik ten Hag's top target this summer as he tries to fill the void in attack. However, should United struggle to sign Kane, Ten Hag has compiled a list of alternatives. Among these is Osimhen, of whom the Dutchman is said to be a fan. With his contract set to expire in 2025, the Nigeria international could hit the mark if he doesn't sign a new deal.

But, according to its representatives, no decision has yet been made. "Everything that's being said is wrong," they told Mundo Deportivo.

“It is too early to talk about the transfer window. A lot of people try to destabilize at this point. Nothing."

Recently, Osimhen has also expressed doubts about his future but in an interview with Sport1, he insisted he is not sure what lies ahead. “I don't know what the future holds for us,” he explained.

"I think I'm on the right track. At the end of the season I will sit down with my agent and discuss everything. "I will also negotiate with the club. I am extremely grateful to Napoli. We will find a good solution together."

United have been in need of a striker since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in November. Wout Weghorst was loaned out in January but it is unlikely the Burnley player will return to Old Trafford next season.
