'That's a bit controversial' - Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson makes Jude Bellingham confession

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson revealed his favourite Beatles song and spoke about his bond with Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, while acknowledging that the 19-year-old midfielder will not be joining him at Anfield next season. Henderson and Bellingham developed a rapport during the World Cup last year, where both players were selected by Gareth Southgate for England's midfield, alongside Declan Rice.

There were reports linking Bellingham with a move to Liverpool, but the Reds ultimately backed out due to the scale of their required midfield overhaul. Henderson had previously expressed his desire to play alongside Bellingham at club level, calling it "amazing" while on international duty in March. However, he also acknowledged that Bellingham needs to make the right decision for his career and that every club will want him.

Henderson's revelation of his favourite Beatles song was part of an interview he did with Apple Music. While discussing the band's legacy, he confessed that his favourite song is "Hey Jude," which prompted host Zane Lowe to joke that it was a "controversial" choice given his friendship with Bellingham.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Bellingham has snubbed interest from Manchester City and is set to join Real Madrid. Liverpool officials have halted their pursuit of the midfielder, opting for a more comprehensive approach to their midfield reconstruction this summer.

Bellingham's move to Real Madrid has not been confirmed, but Spanish publication AS reported that the teenager is set to join the 14-time European champions. If the reports are true, Bellingham will join a team that recently beat Liverpool in the Champions League quarterfinals and is led by French superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Bellingham has emerged as one of Europe's brightest prospects, with his impressive performances for Dortmund and England drawing interest from several top clubs. He has been compared to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard for his combative style and ability to score from midfield. However, Liverpool's decision to step away from the pursuit of Bellingham indicates that they have a different strategy for strengthening their midfield.

Henderson, who has been an integral part of Liverpool's midfield for several years, will be hoping to lead the team to a successful end to the season. The Reds have struggled with injuries and form this year, but they still have a chance to qualify for the Champions League and salvage their campaign.
