A Twitter user identified as @praisegeorge shared an experience his friend had and the measures he took while traveling to Singapore. Singapore is classified as having one of the most peaceful and lowest crime rates in the country. The country has strict rules that govern the country, due to this people living in the country and outsiders do not intend to commit crimes in Singapore as one severe punishment for drug traffickers is the death penalty.
Read the users thread below;
“My friend traveled to Singapore. He had his passport and a wallet with some cards and dollars. He carried zero luggage. As soon as he left the airport he bought clothes and a suitcase. He didn't want to hear anything like 'We found something in your luggage.'Singapore is not a place where you 'help someone carry one small load,' to their family in Singapore. Don't carry anything for anybody. Don't even carry anything for yourself. A laptop bag is enough. You don't have to travel to all the countries in the world. Go to countries where you are welcome, countries where you feel safe, and countries where you won't be thrown in jail for a mistake or a setup. In other words, avoid Singapore if you have no serious business there”.
His revelation sparked a lot of conversations and users took to the comments section to share their opinions;

“Been to Singapore and Indonesia. Have had questions asked including my home ID and phone number. Had bags searched many times I Hate to say it but lots of suspicion for black people. And hate to further say it, but they all ask "Are you Nigerian?".

“I like that people are very wary of how and what
they travel with to Singapore. It has helped the stability and sanity of the country and it is very good. So many Westerners and Westernized Africans love having their cake and eating it. Not in Singapore”.

“I watched the news on Aljazeera, mind you he didn't traffick the drugs yet, he was only caught with it, they executed him on the grounds of aiding and abetting drug trafficking despite the pleas and loopholes in the whole investigation”.

“During the regime of former president Olusegun listened on the radio to the story of the boy that was executed for a similar crime, it was at that point I developed a dislike for Singapore, so if I must travel there I will follow your friend's example go empty and buy what you need there”.

“If it's a visiting Visa and you don't have any luggage then you MIGHT be stopped and investigated, if you don't present concrete reasons then you are most likely boarding the next available flight back home”.
