Ralf Rangnick, a former Manchester United interim manager, has applauded the Red Devils for putting many of his suggestions into practice during their brief time at Old Trafford.
Rangnick was hired by United in November 2021 to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on a contract that lasted through the conclusion of the season. After a promising start, things quickly went south, as United ended up finishing with their lowest Premier League point total ever.
Rangnick publicly criticized United's decision-makers, especially the Glazer family, as the situation started to deteriorate late on for failing to sign the correct players and placing an excessive amount of faith in underwhelming players who needed to be sold.
Rangnick said that United had started to heed his recommendations, despite the fact that he ultimately preferred the Austria manager position over a previously agreed-upon consultant role.
It wasn't an easy time, of course, Rangnick said to Sport1. "The timing could have been better to arrive at that time.
The club has clearly noticed the signals of the times. Many of the ideas we discussed back then have since been put into practice. They recruited numerous fresh players. Other athletes who, for a variety of reasons, weren't able to perform at their peak back then are now, when they are healthy, back in top form. Marcus Rashford comes to mind. Luke Shaw is once again healthy and no longer experiences serious injury issues.
"They are currently working together again, although naturally, there were some issues for particular causes. You now have a chance to grow once more as a team. It's hardly shocking that they finish in the top four once again this year because they have a tremendously good coach in Erik ten Hag. You may now say that, in my opinion.
And they even have a chance to win a second championship in the FA Cup final versus Man City.
