Arsenal told to make four signings including replacement for £120k-a-week defender

Former Liverpool player and CaughtOffside columnist Stan Collymore believes that Arsenal needs to make at least four top-quality signings in the summer transfer window to remain competitive and challenge for the Premier League title next season and beyond. Despite being on top of the table for the majority of the season, Arsenal has faltered in recent games, including a 4-1 defeat against defending champions Manchester City. With just a handful of games remaining, Arsenal must remain active in the transfer market if they're to continue improving.

According to Collymore, Arsenal needs to spend a considerable amount of money on new players to compete with the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, and other teams that are improving. He highlighted four positions that need reinforcing: a striker to compete with Gabriel Jesus, a new midfielder to ease the burden on Granit Xhaka, Thomas Partey, and Martin Odegaard, a center-back to improve the defense, and a replacement for Ben White at right-back.

Collymore believes that Arsenal's small squad and the number of games they'll be playing next season make it essential to bring in new players. He suggests that Jude Bellingham would be an excellent addition to any team, but if Arsenal can't compete for him, they should consider signing Declan Rice. In defense, Collymore is not convinced that any of Arsenal's current players can get into Manchester City's starting lineup, and he believes that Arsenal needs to improve their full-back positions if they're to challenge for the title.

White has had a decent season playing at full-back, but Collymore believes that he's not good enough to become a Premier League-winning full-back. In the Premier League, having solid wide defenders is crucial, and Guardiola has spent a fortune on full-backs over the years at Manchester City. This fact highlights how significant the full-back position has become in modern football.

In conclusion, Collymore thinks that Arsenal needs to spend a considerable amount of money on new players in the summer transfer window to remain competitive and challenge for the Premier League title next season. He believes that Arsenal should target a striker, a midfielder, a center-back, and a right-back. By making these signings, Arsenal can improve their squad and challenge for the title next season and beyond.
