RYAN MASON TRIES TO CHEER UP TOTTENHAM FANS

The players finally displayed some fight and passion when they rallied against Manchester United after Ryan Mason became the third person to hold the Tottenham manager's position in as many weeks.

Just days after the Italian tore into the team and organization following their tie at Southampton, Antonio Conte left the club by mutual consent, and exactly one month later, Tottenham Hotspur and Tottenham drew 2-2.

After Fabio Paratici left the club after failing to have his football ban overturned, the situation quickly got worse. Meanwhile, the Spurs hierarchy made the poor decision to hire Cristian Stellini for a short time.

Before last Sunday's humiliating 6-1 loss to Newcastle, Conte's assistant supervised a lackluster stalemate at Everton, a fortunate victory over Brighton, and a dismal home loss to Bournemouth.

The outcome at St. James' Park served as the low point of a difficult season for Spurs. So much so that the players promised to compensate fans for the horrible performance, in which the team allowed five goals to be scored in the first 21 minutes.

As he did two years ago, when he was appointed manager of the club for the final seven games of the season after chairman Daniel Levy fired Jose Mourinho, Mason has been given the task of picking up the pieces.

After breaking the record in 2019 at the age of 29, the former Spurs academy graduate is once again the youngest Premier League manager.

Mason said as soon as he assumed leadership last week, "You have to be ready, and I am ready."

On Thursday night, it first appeared to be quite similar as goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford gave a dominant United a 2-0 lead at halftime amid a riotous environment with supporters shouting for chairman Daniel Levy to resign.

But with a heartfelt comeback to score an unexpected point, the players demonstrated that they would fight for Mason in the season's final weeks.

Although United remains in the box seat, Pedro Porro and Son Heung-min kept a glimmer of hope alive that Spurs might still finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League the following season.
