Manchester United midfielder Casemiro was lucky to avoid a penalty, or even a red, in the 21st minute of Sunday's 1-0 win over Aston Villa.

Erik ten Hag's side recovered from a disappointing loss to Spurs in midweek thanks to a first-half goal from Bruno Fernandes.

However, it was not an easy win against Unai Emery's side, who have been in great form recently.

In fact, things could be a lot more difficult for the hosts if referee Jarred Gillett decided to penalize Casemiro for a late tackle on Villa's Jacob Ramsey in the early stages.

As you can see in the images below, Casemiro dodged a card after knocking out Ramsey with a reckless tackle. The Brazilian midfielder, who has missed several games this season after two red cards against Crystal Palace and Southampton, declared his innocence almost immediately.

And to the surprise of some supporters, he managed to get away with it. What do you think?

"I still wonder why Casemiro wasn't booked for this?" while another commented:

"It was a nasty nasty tackle whose intention was to stop the game. A blatant yellow card like you've ever seen."

The third person wrote:

"Someone somewhere explain why it's not reserved (red)" and the fourth said:

"It was a blatant foul. I'm surprised he wasn't warned. Looks like he didn't learn anything from that tackle."

Casemiro has certainly been one of United's standout players since his move from Real Madrid in the summer for around £70m.

In total he has made 43 appearances in all competitions under Erik ten Hag and according to WhoScored, the 31-year-old has averaged 23.8 minutes of tackles in England's top flight this season - the second highest in the league. fight.

But many believe he escaped death on Sunday after his tackle on Ramsey. What do you think? Is it a reservation, or even a red one?
