Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly planning to sign Rennes midfielder Lovro Majer along with 25-year-old international team-mate Luka Modric.

Rennes finished in 4th place last season, leading to a place in the Europa League. They reached the play-offs of the tournament, but lost to Shakhtar Donetsk on penalties.

They are currently continuing their battle to qualify for next season's competition - the league they can compete without Majer at the club.
