Jurgen Klopp has admitted that he regrets not signing Son Heung-Min for Liverpool in a flashback interview.
Liverpool will enter the summer transfer window in an attempt to rejuvenate their squad, after a lackluster campaign that could have kept them out of the Champions League.
In particular, midfield is a position to rejuvenate, with the Anfield team having been linked with Mason Mount, Conor Gallagher, Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister within a few months.
Liverpool have also pulled out of the race to sign Jude Bellingham, due to the asking price Borussia Dortmund will likely ask for the 19-year-old England international.

Klopp hopes he will not regret missing out on Bellingham, just as Liverpool have not signed Son in the past. Jurgen Klopp talks about his son
Klopp admitted he missed his chance to sign Son before the South Korean striker completed his move to Tottenham.

Indeed, the German coach once called the decision not to sign Son the "biggest mistake" of his life.
"One of the biggest mistakes in my life was not signing Son Heung-min," Klopp told Korean broadcaster KBS News last November.
"Excellent player. He's amazing, an icon of Korean football and one of the best strikers in the world.
Ironically, Son has an impressive scoring record against the Red Devils, with four goals in eight Premier League matches against the Merseyside team.
It is also alleged that his goal at Anfield last season prevented Klopp's men from winning the Premier League.
Despite Son's impressive record against the Reds, he has only won against Liverpool once before today - in 2017, when Mauricio Pochettino's side lost 4-1.

Newcastle United are now flying high in the Champions League spots following a 4-1 win over Everton in midweek
Danny Murphy
Danny Murphy believes Liverpool should forget about signing Newcastle United's Bruno Guimaraes this summer.
Various reports in recent weeks have suggested that the Reds are considering an approach for the Brazilian. Since signing for the Magpies last January, Guimaraes has established himself as one of the Premier League's finest midfielders and a cult hero at Tyneside.
The 25-year-old starred in Newcastle's 4-1 win over Everton in midweek, setting up Callum Wilson for him to strike from 20 yards to make it 3-0. A calm and deep midfielder, Guimaraes also offers a heavy pressing style befitting a position in Jurgen Klopp's engine room. Liverpool are on the hunt for reinforcements for midfield as negotiations cool over a possible transfer for England star Jude Bellingham. However, with the new-found wealth and high-flying revival of the Starling, it will take a hefty fee to lure him out of St James's Park.
Newcastle also look increasingly likely to qualify for next year's Champions League - with a win at Goodison Park putting them eight points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. When things settle, Liverpool will need an extraordinary effort - seven points more than the top four - to claim their place in UEFA's elite competition.
Former Reds midfielder Murphy insists Guimaraes' divine form at Newcastle means Liverpool "have no chance" of luring him to Merseyside. He told talkSPORT:
"(He's a) great player. He has a great balance of creativity, passing and skill along with a thirst for action from the back, defense and detection. danger.
"When you have that balance and you're good at both, you're going to be an elite footballer. He's God there - and he's not going anywhere. No chance."
