Tottenham Hotspur proved that they, not Arsenal, are still the best team in the Premier League when they lost to Liverpool in an absurd ending.

For the second time in a week, Spurs were trailing three goals in a matter of minutes as the crowd of fans visiting Anfield thought they had seen enough after 15 minutes.

However, they looked set to miss an all-time comeback, as Harry Kane started what would turn out to be a ridiculous end to the game, pulling back a goal before half-time.

Son Heung-min then raised the score to 3-2, after twice touching the post, just because the referee's two controversial decisions prevented them from going through.

In injury time, however, it looked likely Richarlison would split the points among Ryan Mason's side, with a second comeback in a matter of days. But, everyone seemed to forget it was Spurs, and somehow they managed to get rid of the draw, with Diogo Jota scoring the winning goal even then.

It's been a pretty crazy week in north London, with a 6-1 loss to Newcastle United last Sunday starting it all.

At St James' Park, they were trailed 5-0 after just 21 minutes, with fans leaving the field early and then receiving players' money back.

This match comes after Cristian Stellini became the first interim Premier League manager to be sacked before the end of his brief stint at the club.

They then managed to come back from two first-half goals to Manchester United on Thursday night to earn a well-deserved point. But the madness will continue on Sunday, when Curtis Jones, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah, who are then from the penalty spot, all score within 15 minutes, raising fears of Newcastle humiliation.

After Spurs pulled back 3-2, Jota was fortunate not to be sent off after a high-footed tackle with Oliver Skipp and then Ibrahima Konate narrowly conceded a penalty, sending Richarlison off.

The Brazilian then ended the drought in the Premier League in the 93rd minute, when he went home from Son's free-kick and received a yellow card for taking off his shirt.

It was a wasted card as Lucas Moura's mistake allowed Jota to score the winning goal and injured Jurgen Klopp in celebration.

"Ultimate Spurs are unlocked," said one fan. "Liverpool win by death, Spurs' most ever," a second added.

Cheering Jose Mourinho's spirit, a third joked: "Only Spurs can come back 3-0 in the 90th minute and still find a way to lose. That's Tottenham's history."

"Richarlison got booked for celebrating that goal, only to have Spurs lose, their sum is perfect. Well done," another commented.

And the fifth person sums it up poetically, posting: "The storytelling gods have woven a tapestry there that's simple and truly beautiful. "They know a Richarlison goal is the most important thing for Liverpool, but a Liverpool victory is the most important thing for Spurs. I swear allegiance to them. I fear them - yes - but I also love them. ."
