Paris Saint-Germain's recent loss to Lorient has been talked about in the football world. Although there were many factors that caused PSG to lose unexpectedly, one of the most controversial moments of the match was Achraf Hakimi's red card.

The incident happened in the 35th minute of the match, when PSG were leading 1-0. Hakimi tried to hit a slip on Lorient's Fabien Lemoine but his tackle hit the midfielder's ankle and sent him to the ground. After consulting the VAR, the referee decided to show Hakimi a red card directly for hitting the ball. Many football fans and pundits wonder if a red card is fair or harsh. On the one hand, some consider Hakimi's ordeal to be reckless and jeopardize Lemoine's safety. They pointed out that the Moroccan defender received a yellow card and should have been more careful with his tackles.

On the other hand, others thought the red card was too rough and the referee overreacted to the incident. They pointed out that Hakimi had purposely failed to touch Lemoine's ankle and that the tackle was more like an ill-timed slip than a dangerous challenge. Ultimately, the decision as to whether a red card is fair or rough depends on his interpretation of the rules and the severity of the tackle. While some may argue that the referee made the right decision, others may argue that Hakimi was unfairly punished for an ill-timed tackle.

Regardless of their views on the red card, it was clear that PSG struggled to deal with the attacking threat from Lorient and were unable to come back after being 10 men behind. The loss raised questions about the general form as well as the ability to compete at the top of PSG.

As for Hakimi, the defender will serve a 1-match suspension and miss PSG's next match. While the Parisians will certainly feel his absence, the team will need to quickly regroup and focus on their next challenge if they are to recover from their recent loss.
