Manchester United 'are keeping tabs on Tammy Abraham as an alternative forward target to Harry Kane'

Reports suggest that Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Roma forward Tammy Abraham as a potential alternative to Harry Kane if they cannot acquire the Tottenham striker this summer. It is said that Man United, as well as Paris Saint-Germain, have sent observers to monitor the English forward, who has been in excellent form under the stewardship of Jose Mourinho at Roma. Abraham has previously expressed openness to a Premier League comeback, and Tottenham are also reportedly keeping a close eye on him, but Chelsea's £70m buy-back clause in his contract means that Roma will likely demand a significant fee for his services.

After struggling to secure a regular place in the Chelsea first team, Abraham went on loan to Swansea and Aston Villa before leaving the club in 2021 to join Roma. Since then, he has made 98 appearances for the Italian club, scoring 36 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions. Last season, he broke Gerry Hitchens' 16-goal record to become the highest-scoring English player in a single Serie A season, netting 17 times. This season, he has scored eight goals in 32 Serie A appearances, as well as one in the Europa League against HJK Helsinki.

However, it appears that Man United's first choice remains Harry Kane, with manager Erik ten Hag suggesting that Kane is at the top of his striker shortlist. Kane's future remains uncertain, with some reports suggesting that he could be set to wind down his contract ahead of its expiry next year. Meanwhile, there is growing concern in Napoli that they could lose hot prospect Victor Osimhen this summer, despite slapping a £150m price tag on the Nigerian. Osimhen has 21 goals from 26 league matches and is a top target for Ten Hag, as well as Arsenal, who are reportedly keen to secure his signature. The 24-year-old has also caught the eyes of PSG and Bayern Munich, but he has previously stated that it is his dream to play in the Premier League.
