If Bernardo Silva insists on leaving this summer, Manchester City won't stop him, but they will expect that their entire estimation of him be satisfied, according to 90min.

Silva wanted to move to Barcelona last summer, but City refused and told the Portugal international he could not leave this year.

Barcelona also made an approach in January, but City insisted that he would stay with their team at least through this summer. Now, if Silva pushes for the transfer as anticipated, the Catalans are prepared to make another attempt to sign him before the start of the following season.

No matter who they are, Pep Guardiola has long been clear with all of his players that he does not want anyone to stay if they do not want to play for the club. In recent years, City has demonstrated this by letting players like Leroy Sane, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Gabriel Jesus to leave the team.

Silva would also be free to depart, according to City insiders, despite his importance to the team. However, the former Monaco star has a contract that runs through 2025, so any club that wants to sign him will have to pay his market price, which 90min understands to be in the neighborhood of £75m.

Paris Saint-Germain is eager to sign Silva and is a tremendous fan. But it is obvious that if he does choose to leave the Etihad Stadium, he only has Barcelona in mind.

Barcelona, meanwhile, is keeping an eye on more than simply Silva. This summer, they have their eye on a number of players, including fellow City midfielder Ilkay Gunodgan, who has the added benefit of being a free agent if his contract expires. 90min has already reported that an agreement is close, despite City still holding out hope that a new contract can be reached.

However, despite their efforts to sign Silva and Gundogan, Lionel Messi remains Barcelona's top target. They are making a lot of effort to come to an agreement, which also needs to be approved by La Liga, who previously declined to do so with contracts for players like Gavi and Ronald Araujo.
