Ever heard of a human being raised by animals? Well, this is the story of Marina in an interview with LADbible TV.
Imagine being surrounded by many fresh springs of onions among other vegetables with the naturals and healthiest of all that you find edible. This was the unperturbed beginning of four-year-old Marina who was born in Colombia. However, the most uncertain thing in life happened when she was abducted at the age of four (4) from her family in the
jungle where they lived.
For which ever reason unknown, the two men who had abducted her, abandoned her in a deep jungle where there were no human beings and went their way without looking back at the poor four-year-old Marina. “I cried and cried and begged them to come back for me but they did not even look back”she said.
Little did she know that the place she called nightmare would soon be a place of abode. At first, she was approached by a mother monkey, then before she could blink again, she was surrounded by a troop of monkeys. “After several weeks I forgot that someone was ever coming for me as I became and felt more part of the primate’s family. I felt comfortable around them and they never pushed me away.” I struggled with other monkeys for food. When I ate a fruit which my body can’t tolerate and felt sick, one of the older monkeys would pick me up and put me in a pond and lift me out again, then I would vomit everything out, after that I felt better.” Marina said.
Marina said that sometimes she saw people hunting for animals but never approached them or let them see her because she was afraid they would abduct and put her in a sack with the animals they were hunting.
When she was about eight, a man with a young woman of about 20yrs came into the jungle to hunt for animals. “When I saw the young woman, I felt attracted to her and for once felt secured to approach her” Marina said. “She seemed very nice and my guts urged me to let her see me” she added. After she approached her, the man angrily grabbed her and put her inside a truck full of other animals and drove off into a city in Colombia. The man then left her with a woman who always whipped her for no particular reason. After some time, a neighbor who used to hear her cry, took Marina away and sent her by plane to her daughter (let’s call her Isabella for the purpose of this story) who lived in Bogota, the capital of Colombia.
Marina worked as a nanny in the Isabella’s house and the whole family loved her so much. After some years, she was invited to the U.K by Isabella’s sister.
Marina Chapman, now 73, lives in the UK with her two daughters. “I found it really hard to trust anyone because of what I went through in my childhood. “I knew how to love and trust other people because of my daughters” she said she added.”
