Only a few minor issues need to be resolved in the negotiations for Chelsea to hire Mauricio Pochettino as their new permanent manager, 90min understands.

Since Julian Nagelsmann withdrew from discussions with Chelsea and 90min reported last month that an agreement had been reached in principle for the former Tottenham and PSG manager to take over at Stamford Bridge, all attention has been on Pochettino.

Chelsea's decision-makers are believed to have gathered over the weekend to review the status of their pursuit of Pochetino, whose attorneys have now received a contract as the Blues attempt to wrap up the recruiting process a month after Graham Potter was fired.

Pochettino's backroom staff has also been extensively discussed and is almost finalized; there are only a few small issues left to be resolved before a full agreement can be reached.

Chelsea is hoping to name Pochettino as their new manager in the upcoming days, not least because it would give their fans, who have grown increasingly angry in recent weeks, a boost of positivity.

In fact, sources have told 90min that Pochettino might attend Tuesday's match between Chelsea and Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Discussions on Pochettino's plans for the present group have taken place over the previous several weeks. The Argentine is anticipated to have a large say in which players are permitted to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Levi Colwill, a center back who was expected to play in the first team before the hunt for a new manager began, will have room in the squad, Malo Gusto's loan to Lyon will expire, and the signing of RB Leipzig forward Christopher Nkunku will finally be official.

The deal for Nkunku, which was reached months ago, has not been verified by either Chelsea or Leipzig, but Marco Rose, the manager of the German team, recently acknowledged that the forward is "in his last few weeks" with the organization.

Neither Chelsea nor Leipzig have confirmed the agreement for Nkunku, which was struck months ago, although the German side's manager Marco Rose did recently admit the forward is 'in his last few weeks' with the club.
