FRANK LAMPARD SAYS HE ENJOYS THE CHALLENGE OF PLAYING FOR CHELSEA DESPITE OBSTACLES

Since Lampard was named interim manager, Chelsea has dropped each of its last five games.

Frank Lampard insists that he still adores Chelsea and is looking forward to the challenge of changing the course of the team.

Since returning to the club earlier this month for a second stint as manager, this time as caretaker, after Graham Potter was fired, Lampard has lost all five of his games in charge.

Chelsea's winless streak in all competitions has now lasted eight games. They are currently six points below the top 10 teams in the Premier League and were booed off the field at halftime of last week's 2-0 home loss to Brentford.

Tuesday's game is against title-chasing London rivals Arsenal, and Lampard responded in the affirmative when asked if he still enjoyed going to work. When I started this job, I had my eyes wide open.

We've seen that things don't always change overnight when it comes to outcomes, but I've played and now coach football for too long to not grasp that.

"Our responsibility is to improve the team's performances and mood during practice in an effort to restore a positive atmosphere. Hard work is the only way to get that.

"I relish that challenge, and I was fully prepared for its arrival. I'm incredibly proud to run the club. I adore being here and working here.

"In football, it's a fact that your career won't always be successful. People will always remember the victories, but whether you're a manager or a player, there will also be difficult times.

"I like that aspect of it because even though you can't always control the outcomes, you can control how you work every day."

After losing 4-0 on the road to Real Madrid, Chelsea's Champions League dreams under Lampard were also shattered. Now, the former midfielder for the Blues meets the Gunners in another crucial management test.

We're not in a good place right now, are we? said Lampard. But I've now had a few weeks to live with this. I also experienced perhaps ten years of phenomenal success here, participated in it once more, and witnessed its continuation.
