The odds were stacked against the Gunners, and despite selling out their stadium for the first time, Wolfsburg secured their spot in the Eindhoven final with a last-second extra time winner.

Three minutes into the game, Wolfsburg was awarded a penalty, which Arsenal would have like to avoid. However, thanks to chance and VAR working in their favor, the hosts were able to steal the opening goal when Stina Blackstenius, a player who has proven her mettle in the hardest games, nudged the ball home.

In order to increase their prospects of winning the UEFA Women's Champions League for the first time since 2007, Arsenal was always going to need to use the energy of the sold-out Emirates, and the enthusiastic crowd screamed the north London team's praises.

After falling behind 2-0 in Wolfsburg, Arsenal fought their way back into the first leg. Beating the two-time winners in this match would be a huge challenge because they have been in excellent form throughout their winners League run.

But up until this point, Arsenal's Champions League run has been nothing short of miraculous. Their progress to this point is nothing short of a miracle considering the number of famous key players who have been injured throughout their campaign.

They defeated eight-time champion Lyon, dominated Zurich, and secured victories against Juventus as they took first place in Group C. In the second leg of their quarterfinal matchup against Bayern Munich, when they recovered from behind to win on aggregate, Arsenal fans showed up to support their team.

Jill Roord, a former Arsenal player, scored the equalizer for Wolfsburg before halftime on Monday, almost exactly reversing the outcome of the previous match. The Gunners were battling to find a way to guarantee their place in Eindhoven.

Minutes into the second half, a score was disallowed for offside, showing that the 2006/07 champions, who were energized by the absence of important players, still had plenty of fight in them.

Stand-in captain Katie McCabe discussed how the loss of players like Kim Little, Leah Williamson, Beth Mead, and Vivianne Miedema has strengthened the team's resolve to work even harder to advance to the final in her postgame remarks.
