Jürgen Klopp's change to Liverpool's system will allow the Red Devils to close the gap with Arsenal's Martin Ødegaard and Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne.
A recurring theme - although not a recurring one - during Jürgen Klopp's tenure as Liverpool midfielder has been the failure of these midfielders to score goals.
That continues this season, with Fábio Carvalho being the only Reds midfielder to score more than one Premier League goal. Stefan Bajčetić, Harvey Elliott, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all scored, while Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago, Naby Keïta, James Milner and Arthur drew.
Unsurprisingly, that six-goal figure is the lowest of the Premier League's top six teams. Arsenal lead with 21 goals, followed by Manchester City with 17. Spurs are the only team left with a single figure, having scored nine goals from midfield.
Martin Ødegaard is responsible for 12 of Arsenal's 21 goals so far, while Manchester City's Kevin de Bruyne scored 15 last season but still scored a respectable 7. Joelinton and Bruno Fernandes, each contributed 6 goals for Newcastle and Manchester United respectively.
But at Liverpool, centre-back Virgil van Dijk has scored more goals (3 goals) than any other midfield pick. We don't necessarily see this as a particularly big problem for Klopp. After all, his side have still scored 65 goals in 33 appearances so far this season, the third highest in the league this season behind Manchester City (84) and Arsenal (78). He's on track to finish the season at around 75, which should be a nice return to a slow year. The goals just come from different sources.

We've seen Henderson allow for more attack after Alexander-Arnold's change of position, with the 24-year-old switching to a two-man midfield with Fabinho holding the ball for more protection.
And, in the game against Spurs, there was some suggestion that Jones and Elliott could be encouraged to enter the box more often when one more player arrives late to overload the opposition.
While neither were the best, Jones' finish proved that won't stop them from finishing with crosses. And more importantly, both seem more suited to an attacking midfield role than an all-rounder. Then we could see the arrival of a new scoring weapon at Anfield,
