David Silva has a perfect retirement plan as the Real Sociedad midfielder has added another lucrative business to his list of phenomenally successful businesses.



The 37-year-old midfielder, who has won many trophies with Manchester City including the Premier League, has opened a liquor business that has cost him millions of dollars.

According to Get Football, Silva purchased a plot of nearly one million square meters in Gran Canaria, a mountainous region, with eight hectares dedicated to vineyards.


The Spanish mid-range wine company has produced more than 10,000 bottles from the first two harvests, with a bottle going up to €170 at a Michelin-starred restaurant in London. Silva, who will retire at the end of the season, has exported his wines to Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Meanwhile, David Silva has built a small business empire that could last a lifetime after retiring from professional football.

The 37-year-old midfielder currently owns two beach clubs in the Canary Islands, 125 apartments in Maspalomas, a small 22-room hotel, a golf course and a complex of 88 houses, Football Espana reports.


Silva has played for top teams including Valencia and Manchester City and was also part of the 2010 Spain team that won the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.


Silva sentenced for beating a young woman

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Real Sociedad midfielder David Silva had been found guilty of groping a young woman during an altercation at a music festival in Spain. The 36-year-old man was involved in a major brawl at a carnival in the town of Maspalomas, Canary Islands on June 19.


The former Manchester City star has been ordered to pay damages totaling 1,080 euros after admitting an incident of violence.
