“Behind the scenes” – Frank Lampard explains why Mykhailo Mudryk hasn’t been starting

Mykhailo Mudryk arrived at Chelsea in January for a significant fee, which was questioned by some Chelsea fans. However, there were no doubts about Mudryk's abilities as a player, but the concern was about the fee paid for a player who was still raw and not ready to help the team immediately.

Although Mudryk has shown moments of brilliance, he has struggled to get starts for Chelsea. Frank Lampard, the manager, has hinted that there may be some other reasons why Mudryk hasn't been starting under him. Lampard said that there are things that may not be seen behind the scenes that do not relate directly to the pitch, but they hope that Mudryk will be a great player for the club in the future.

Lampard explained that Mudryk has a lot to learn about the game, which is normal for developing players. With wingers, the coach needs to consider whether they know the role of the winger defensively or if they need time to learn that role. Lampard takes decisions on more footballing attributes than motivational ones. He expects everyone to be motivated and expects that to be the case.

Lampard emphasized that every game is an opportunity for young players that have come to Chelsea. He also said that the team should not expect too much of players that have just arrived. It may be part of the story this year that young players are expected to make a difference because of the team's performance. However, Lampard believes that, in an ideal world, a club like Chelsea should bring in players with stability and performances and results where they can find their time, look at other players playing in front of them and realize what the standards are to get into the team.

The coach cannot expect the individuals to find that on their own, so from Lampard's perspective, he wants respect from the players in working with himself and the staff. Lampard and the staff care about the players, and they are not a group of staff that puts their feet up and wait to get paid for their holidays. They are all Chelsea people who are trying to make this as positive an experience for everyone as possible.

In summary, Mykhailo Mudryk arrived at Chelsea for a large fee, and although he has shown flashes of brilliance, he has struggled to get starts. Lampard has hinted that there may be reasons behind the scenes why Mudryk hasn't been starting. Lampard takes decisions based on footballing attributes rather than motivational ones, and he expects respect from the players in working with himself and the staff. Lampard and the staff care about the players and are trying to make this a positive experience for everyone.
