A unique program has been started by Horsham Education Consult (Horsham Ed) in partnership with MountCrest University College to encourage reading and research among tertiary students and professionals.

The "Horsham Online Library Project" aims to provide access to the largest online libraries in order to address the issue of the high cost of books and other educational materials, which tends to deter students from reading extensively in order to master the subjects that they study, resulting in high levels of plagiarism and subpar academic work output.

Irene Ansa-Asare, the rector of Mountcrest University College and the lead consultant at Horsham Ed, described how the two organizations were working together to help students access heavily discounted online books and other materials as well as provide them with assistance.

a few educational services to help them with their coursework.

In addition to having access to online resources, participants in the program will also have access to webinars and quiet study spaces at the Horsham Ed building in Accra.

According to Ms. Ansa-Asare, "students and professionals will have access to Perlego, the largest academic online library in the world for university textbooks and professional development books (over 800,000 books)".

For law students, she added, Perlego plus legal databases like JUDY Legal (a comprehensive database of caselaw and legislation from Ghana, Nigeria, and Kenya); Casebook (accessible caselaw summaries); and Westlaw Classic (a comprehensive international database of caselaw, legislation, treaties, and journals) would be available.

The webinars' topics will include business, writing, tax, technology, labor law, banking law, contracts, corporate governance, wills, constitutional rights, and how to launch a company in Ghana.

Other subjects covered in the course, according to Ms. Ansa-Asare, "will be bookkeeping, marketing, communication, entrepreneurship, publishing, how to write legal essays and tests, and writing for grants, proposals, blogs, letters, and curriculum vitae (CV)."

She went on to say that Mountcrest University College will grant all certificates of attendance for the webinars, seminars, and workshops, and that facilitators and lecturers will come from prestigious universities and other organizations both domestically and overseas.
