Gary Neville's latest social media post has drawn a lot of criticism from Liverpool fans after the Manchester United legend joked about the Scouters.

After enjoying great success at Old Trafford Club, Neville has always used every opportunity to approach Liverpool covertly. Especially when he worked for Sky Sports alongside Anfield legend Jamie Carragher.

Neville and Carragher are often seen taunting each other at every opportunity.

However, Neville's latest Carragher joke was not well received by Liverpool fans.

The former United man posted a photo of Carragher walking in London with the caption:

Referring to the stereotype that Liverpool natives were thieves and criminals, he said, "After the lone Scouser was found loitering around London, the police charges at the coronation were tripled and he was £400million. became.

Fans were quick to show their discontent over the joke on social media.

One said:

“I know you've said this as a joke but it's things like this that don't help people from Liverpool with the stereotypes surrounding them and the treatment they receive from other people around England.”

“They're mates having a joke - but people take what they say seriously.”

A third fan added:

“This is tasteless tbh Gary.”

Someone else wrote:

“Ahhh, nonchalant prejudice and bigotry.”

Whilst a fifth commented:

“Given your politics, it's unfortunate that you still think resorting to this type of stereotype is funny and acceptable.”

This isn't the first time Neville has got on the wrong side of Liverpudlians.

Last season, whilst Neville and Carragher were at Watford's Vicarage Road for a match, Carragher attempted to climb up to the commentary gantry when Neville said “he was no stranger” to doing so.

As expected, the jibe left some people from Liverpool disappointed.

Neville and Carragher will be back on our TV screens again soon as the Premier League edges closer to its conclusion. Liverpool take on Fulham on Wednesday night while Manchester City take on West Ham United.
