Real Madrid finalizing deal for Bellingham, six-year deal all but done

According to a report from MARCA and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid is finalizing a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham. The 17-year-old British player will sign a six-year deal with Los Blancos for a fee of around €120 million, which could reach up to €130 million with bonuses.

Although Liverpool and Manchester City were also competing for Bellingham's signature, he ultimately decided to play in the Spanish capital. Madrid's interest in young talent, as shown in their recent signings of Aurelian Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, and their dominance in the Champions League played a convincing role in Bellingham's decision.

While Madrid wants to finalize the deal this month, the announcement will not be made until the end of the 2022-2023 Bundesliga season as Dortmund is still competing for the title. The German club has resigned to the fact that Bellingham is leaving and has lowered their demands from an initial €140 million to between €100 million and €120 million.

Dortmund will make a tidy profit on the sale of Bellingham, who they bought for €25 million from Birmingham in 2020. With four games left in the Bundesliga, Dortmund is just one point behind league leaders Bayern Munich as they dream of their first title in a decade. Bellingham has already scored 11 goals and provided seven assists this season and will be hoping to end his time at Dortmund on a high note.

Madrid's pursuit of young talent aligns with their long-standing tradition of investing in future stars. With the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and Gareth Bale, Madrid has always been known for their willingness to spend big on established players. However, in recent years, the club has shifted its focus to young talent with the potential for future growth.

Bellingham is seen as one of the most promising young talents in football, and his signing is expected to bolster Madrid's midfield options. His ability to play in multiple positions, including central midfield, attacking midfield, and even on the wings, makes him a versatile addition to the Madrid squad.

In recent years, Madrid has struggled to replicate their previous success in the Champions League. However, the signing of Bellingham and other young talents shows that the club is committed to rebuilding for the future. Madrid is hoping that these signings will lead them back to the top of European football and help them challenge for domestic titles as well.

Overall, Madrid's pursuit of Bellingham is a testament to their belief in young talent and their commitment to building a team for the future. While the deal is not yet formalized, it seems like only a matter of time before Bellingham is officially announced as a Real Madrid player.
