For the second straight game, Mohamed Salah scored from the penalty spot to defeat Fulham 1-0.
Marco Silva, the manager of Fulham, says it was shameful for Liverpool to be awarded the game-winning penalty after his team suffered their eighth loss in ten games.
Issa Diop was found to have fouled Darwin Nunez, and Mohamed Salah converted from the penalty spot for the second straight game to earn a 1-0 victory.
However, Silva expressed his skepticism, saying: "I have to say that is embarrassing the way they scored the goal.
"To issue a penalty like that in today's football after the VAR didn't take that penalty (away) is hard to understand.
"I won't say anything else because it will be tough for me to continue and I don't want to make things worse for myself. That penalty is challenging to comprehend," Silva said.
"When Darwin touched the ball, he started to dive himself, but that was after he made contact with Issa's left leg.
"They'll say it's harsh, but the referee gave it and the VAR couldn't take it away afterward. The discourse is the same every time. At the end of the game or during halftime, I didn't talk to the referee. I spoke with the fourth official briefly.
"Issa informed me it's apparent there's no consequence. The VAR is available to make the determination that the referee erred and prevent the penalty from continuing. That's obvious to me.
For the first time since April 2022, the victory allowed Liverpool to win five straight games. It also kept pressure on fourth-placed Manchester United, who Liverpool trails by four points despite having played two more games.
Manager Jurgen Klopp was "really pleased with big parts of the game: first half controlling, creating not finishing situations off."
The punishment I like it a lot since it is a counter-pressing scenario; Darwin is completely engaged and obtains a pen before Mo completes it.
