Fans were furious after Liverpool were awarded a penalty after Darwin Nunez was fouled by Fulham defender Issa Diop.
Liverpool's dim hopes were still alive after late scorer Diogo Jota sealed a dramatic 4-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.
On Wednesday night, Jurgen Klopp's men were looking to close the gap between them and fourth-placed Manchester United to just four points with a win.
However, Fulham will be a tough test after helping Manchester City perform well at the weekend, with Pep Guardiola's side winning 2-1 at Craven Cottage.

Cheered by the Anfield crowd, Liverpool started better and in the 38th minute they had a golden opportunity to open the scoring from 12 yards. When Diop received the ball and was about to clear it, Nunez pinched and cut the ball.
The Uruguayan then fell to the ground when Diop completely missed the ball.
After referee Stuart Attwell pointed to the penalty spot, fans expressed their anger on social media, with LiVARpool later on Twitter.
