Erling Haaland set a Premier League scoring record with his 35th goal of the season in Manchester City's 3-0 win over West Ham on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old Norwegian striker scored in the 70th minute at the Etihad Stadium to give the defending champions a 2-0 lead.
Haaland equaled the previous record held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole last Sunday at Fulham with his 34th goal of the season.
And he goes on alone with the most Premier League goals in a season with his final strike.
"It's a great feeling, like every goal I score," Haaland said. "Especially to win the game is really important."
Haaland has now scored 51 goals in all competitions in his remarkable first year at City.
His record is even more impressive as Shearer and Cole have previously set the standard at a time when the tournament has already played over 42 games.
English football's top division now runs into a 38-match campaign, with Haaland still five matches to extend his record.
Haaland left the field in front of the honor guard of his Man City teammates to mark his achievement.
"That honor guard really hurts," he said. "Everybody hit my back so it hurt a lot. But it was a pleasant feeling so I was happy.
Nathan Ake and substitute Phil Foden also scored in the win to keep City top of the table, one point ahead of Arsenal.
