At the beginning of the 2022-23 season, the Club Licensing Board (CLB) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) refused to accept the Oda Stadium as a league centre due to its failure to meet the required standards.
Consequently, the club was forced to use the Cape Coast Stadium as its home ground for the season. In an interview with Justice Collee, host of Original 91.9FM’s Hang Tyme Show, the Kotoku Royals spokesperson stated that playing home away from home was a significant factor in their battle against relegation.
The club needs to develop several areas at the facility to host league games, but the funds are not available.
The limited finances and the failure of some individuals to fulfill their pledges and promises have resulted in unsuccessful renovation works, according to Afrifa.
The Members of Parliament (MPs) who promised to assist the club in completing the stadium did not come on board as expected.
