Mane edges closer to EPL return as Bayern ‘to let him and fellow top star leave’
BAYERN MUNICH are open to letting Sadio Mane leave the club this summer, reports claim.
Mane, 31, only made the £35 million transfer from Liverpool to the German team last year.
But according to Bild, he is one of two stars the club is willing to let leave during the upcoming transfer window.
Serge Gnabry, an ex-Arsenal player, is the other.
But Chelsea benefits from the possibility of Mane leaving.
The Blues have recently indicated interest in bringing the former Liverpool forward back to the Premier League, according to the German magazine Bild.
Despite spending a whopping £600 million over the last two transfer windows, this is the case.
Following his alleged altercation with Leroy Sane off the field, Bild reports that Bayern are willing to part ways with Mane.
Prior to joining Bayern last summer, Mane spent six years at Liverpool, where he helped the Reds win the Champions League and the Premier League.
According to reports, the Bundesliga's juggernauts might be open to trading Mane for Napoli's sensational attacker Victor Osimhen.
But Mane's pay is reportedly "probably too much" for the incoming Serie A champions.
The Blues have also been mentioned as a potential substitute for the forward.
Mane scored 120 goals in 269 games for Liverpool, and this season, in 35 games for Bayern, he has bagged 12 goals.
A season which been mostly dominated by injuries.
Pochettino hasn't officially taken over as Chelsea's manager as of this writing, despite the fact that this is generally anticipated. However, Chelsea is recruiting heavily and they are looking for a traditional striker who is younger than both Mane and Lewandowski but more similar to the latter in terms of style. Chelsea wants to invest in younger players so that signing bonuses are an investment rather than a cost.
