Prioritizing the contract registration of a crucial trio over new signings is Barcelona's strategy.
Barcelona is facing a hazy summer transfer period. The club's main goal will be to satisfy La Liga's Fair Play requirements so they may have full control over the transfer market.
Barcelona's focus, though, is not to sign fresh players on the market, claims Cadena SER. Once they met the requirements of Fair Play, registering the contracts of Gavi, Ronald Araujo, and Alejandro Balde became their sole focus.
The Mercantile Court of Barcelona famously nullified Gavi's contract earlier this year, forcing the young player to revert to his previous contract with Barça, which ends at the conclusion of the current campaign.
Gavi's situation has been noted by other clubs, including Chelsea, and they may take advantage if they perceive an opening. Barcelona is consequently giving his contract registration the highest priority.
The same is true for Ronald Araujo, whose former contract has not yet been registered because Barcelona broke FFP regulations. The club wants to cut labor costs and free up money for Araujo's new contract, but La Liga has not yet given its consent.
Balde, who is eager to extend his stay in Catalonia, is close to agreeing to a renewal. Barcelona will prioritize his registration in order to prevent circumstances similar to those of Gavi and Araujo because it is believed that an agreement lasting until 2027 is on the horizon.
In any case, it is anticipated that Barcelona won't enter the market until these three players, who will be crucial to the team's future, have signed contracts.
Along with these, Barça must also register the new contracts signed earlier this year by Sergi Roberto and Marcos Alonso.
Lionel Messi, who is apparently planning to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the conclusion of the season, continues to be the Blaugrana's top priority in terms of signings.
