Neymar is interested in joining the Premier League, according to sources who spoke to 90min, and PIF, the majority owner of Newcastle United.
PIF thinks Newcastle should take advantage of the fact that they are expected to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League by making a "marquee" transfer this summer.
PIF has also explored a possible transfer for Cristiano Ronaldo, and they do have a direct connection to his present squad Al-Nassr. However, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe does not believe that the 38-year-old is a natural fit for the team going forward.
Despite their interest in Ronaldo, sources are adamant that they would never force a player into the manager's team who didn't want to fit in with the coaching staff.
Neymar, on the other hand, is a unique example. In order to enhance their team in preparation for their expected return to the Champions League and to attract the needed star power, Newcastle are in the market for a left-sided forward before the start of the upcoming season.
