Harry Kane's future at Tottenham has become uncertain since they are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League.

At the end of the season, Harry Kane may find it difficult to resist the temptation to leave Tottenham in search of significant awards, according to former Spurs striker Frederic Kanoute.

While Kane has scored 25 Premier League goals in another outstanding individual season, Spurs' disappointing season did not seem to spell the end of Kane's quest for his first major trophy.

After losing 4-3 to Liverpool on Sunday, Tottenham is now nine points behind the top four, and chairman Daniel Levy has already fired two head coaches, Antonio Conte and interim successor Cristian Stellini.

With Kane's contract about to expire, there have been rumors that Manchester United may be interested in acquiring him during the upcoming transfer window. Paris Saint-Germain is also rumored to be interested in the 29-year-old.

Kanoute thinks the England captain would be persuaded by the possibility of an exit this time around, similar to how Kane wanted to leave Tottenham for Manchester City in 2021.

Kanoute remarked, "I can't speak on his behalf but, obviously, the fans would be really, really disappointed if he leaves the club because he's been fantastic," when asked about Stats Perform at the LaLiga x Bloomsbury Football League event.

"I think he will be a little bit conflicted in the next choice he is going to have to make," I said. "At the same time, I think they understand as well that it could be a good opportunity, a huge opportunity for him to win trophies."

Ryan Mason has taken over as acting head coach since Stellini's departure, although Tottenham has not yet announced the identity of Conte's long-term replacement.

With names like Vincent Kompany, Xabi Alonso, and Julian Nagelsmann being connected to the position, Kanoute has urged Spurs to make their next hire with the future in mind.

We all believe it will be temporary, but I wish Mason the best and hope he does a wonderful job," he remarked.

"The next appointment is obviously going to be extremely important because, in my opinion, it should be a long-term appointment.
