Zubimendi, a midfielder for Real Sociedad, is'very close' to joining Arsenal, claims Spanish publication AS. He is apparently considering accepting a contract to relocate to the United Arab Emirates.
Should he move to North London, Arteta would gain a crucial midfielder for the upcoming season. Declan Rice, a midfielder for West Ham, is rumored to be a target for the summer, although Zubimendi would be the first to arrive.
Any deal would see the one-time Spanish international perform a drastic U-turn over his future. He has rejected a move to the Emirates in the past, whilst he was also linked with a switch to Barcelona with talk that his €60million (£52.8m) release clause could be activated.

He denied the idea that he might depart from Sociedad anytime soon, though. The 24-year-old claimed in a statement last month: "Rumors, rumors, since I informed my agent that I didn't want to hear anything, especially in the winter. With the current season, it would be absurd to ignore Real Sociedad. Here, I'm very content.
