Manchester City have had a busy but successful April as they seek their fifth Premier League title in six seasons.

Manchester City duo Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne were both on the eight-man shortlist for the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month April award.

City have had a perfect month in the league, winning all five games and scoring an impressive 17 goals in the process. A 4-1 home win over Arsenal gave Pep Guardiola's men an exclusive title this year, while a win over Fulham four days later sent them to the top of the table for the first time since February 17.

Haaland and De Bruyne were the essentials to a successful month, as the pair continued their budding relationship while delivering outstanding individuality.

Haaland maintained an unstoppable form, scoring six goals in four league appearances in April, including doubles against Southampton and Leicester City. The Norwegian also added 2 more assists in the win over Arsenal, twice helping De Bruyne to score.

The Belgian appeared to have peaked at the perfect time for City's decisive period, with two goals against Mikel Arteta's men and a hand in the goal against Liverpool on day one. of month. Along with that, the 31-year-old has provided 4 assists in the 4 matches he has appeared in.

The Blues duo were shortlisted by Newcastle pair Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson, who have scored a staggering 12 goals and have two assists.

Crystal Palace also had a stellar month under Roy Hodgson, with Eberechi Eze's four goals earning him a nomination alongside Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, who has scored five times for Unai Emery's side.

No wins against the top nine:

Ten Hag failed with United's away form

Erik ten Hag is set to improve Manchester United's away form next season.

After a 0-1 defeat tonight, the Red Devils are now inconclusive against the top 9 teams in the Premier League table away from home.

Some of those results were particularly disastrous, including a 7-0 loss to Liverpool, a 6-3 loss to Manchester City and a 4-0 loss to Brentford.

MUFC's away record against the 9 strongest teams this season:

Obviously, the squad has improved in many ways, with the club now keeping 22 clean sheets in all competitions, despite keeping just 10 in total last season. However, frequent drop in form on the road is not acceptable if we want to play at the highest level, especially if we guarantee Champions League qualification next season.

The house of yang formation

On a more positive note, Old Trafford has once again become a fortress, and that is something Ten Hag can continue to build on. United have only tasted defeat at home once this season and the Theater of Dreams is slowly becoming a place that teams fear to visit again.
