Jamie Vardy's return to form in Leicester's battle for survival is welcomed by Dean Smith.
Vardy's goals in the last two games have assisted the Foxes in climbing out of the bottom three.
After the veteran's recent comeback, Leicester manager Dean Smith is hoping Jamie Vardy can lead his team to Premier League safety.
After going 19 games without a goal, Vardy has scored in the last two games to help the Foxes climb out of the bottom three.
The 36-year-old is "firing" ahead of the crucial final stretch, according to Smith, who is on a temporary SOS mission at the King Power Stadium to keep Leicester in the Premier League.
Before Monday's trip to Fulham, Smith stated, "People will have seen in his last few performances the hunger and desire he has got, the work rate, the fact that his legs are still there, and his brains are definitely still there."
"We are overjoyed that he is scoring goals again for us. We are quite happy that he is in a terrific spot right now because he scored his first away goal at Leeds and his first home goal on Monday (against Everton).
"He is as aware as anyone that his success as a striker will be measured in terms of goals. He most likely hasn't had enough time on the field to earn the goals or chances, but he did get us a penalty against Wolves. He scored against Leeds after being substituted in, and he also scored on Monday.
He is now in good form, which is exactly what we need with only four games remaining.
"I don't believe we had to restore his confidence; instead, we had to capitalize more on his advantages. He is a smart player, as evidenced by his runs, but his runs depend on the ball finding the perfect spots.
He must make the runs as well, and we must have a supply line to him.
Ricardo Pereira, who has been out with a hamstring injury, might return for Leicester, and there is also positive news regarding Kelechi Iheancho's groin ailment and Jonny Evans' sickness.
