Despite receiving the majority group's unanimous support, Dr. Bawumia and three-time candidate Alan Kyerematen are thought to be the front-runners for the single position.

One of the nine candidates will likely be chosen by the party to run for president in the 2024 election.

The presidential primary nomination period starts on May 26 and finishes on June 24, 2023.

The party will have its parliamentary primary elections in February of the following year.

Nominations will be accepted between December 20, 2023, and January 4, 2024, according to the party.

Engagement

The Vice President's contact with important party stakeholders to let them know about his plan to run for president included a meeting with the majority party in Parliament on the evening of last Tuesday.

According to the Daily Graphic, Dr. Bawumia is of the opinion that the party's present successes mean that, if its members remain steadfast and unified, "we can break the eight-year cycle of the country's political cycle with me."

The Vice President has already written messages to appeal to delegates' emotions before the internal election in November, one of which reads: "Unity and endurance. Together, we can be successful. It's feasible.

Dr. Bawumia declared at the meeting that he was prepared to collaborate with all MPs in order to get a majority of seats in Parliament and add the cherry on top by winning the presidential election.

Dr. Gideon Boako, the vice president's spokesperson, and Nana Akomea, the party's former communications director, were with him.
