In a frightening event, four armed robbers broke into a farm outside of Bulawayo and reportedly raped five women in front of other farm employees and their children before robbing the workers of different goods, including cash.

The two suspects only known as Muzi and Mbekezeli are reportedly on the run, while Luckson Moyo (22) and Sibongisani Ndlovu (40) have subsequently been taken into custody.

Last week on Saturday just after 9pm, four bandits stormed a farm while carrying machetes, axes, and knives.

The four burglars initially proceeded to a property that is located next to the business on the farm, according to a source at the farm who talked to B-Metro on the condition of anonymity.

"They discovered a family with children gathered around a fireplace. The shocked family obliged with their request to lie on the ground. They were then attacked by the thieves as they demanded money.

The mother was then alternately raped by two of the thieves while her husband and kids looked on, according to the source.

Following that, two robbers stayed with the family to protect them while the other two went to a sports bar. There, they discovered six people drinking beer outside the closed bar and demanded money.

"As they demanded money, they made lethal threats, but they were told that they had no money. They again denied possessing the keys when they later sought them for the bar and shop.

However, the robbers took offense to that and told them to lie on the ground before assaulting them. Then they raped three more ladies, the source said.

Before moving on to another compound, where they saw a couple slouching, the insider continued: "They robbed them of their cellphones, three handbags, and US$45."

They demanded money and received US$45 before dragging the victim behind the compound and raping her there while holding a knife.

According to reports, the thieves proceeded to three further complexes and searched the rooms for cash.

Before they left, they stole a number of things, including speaker boxes, money, and handbags, according to the source.

Before rushing the victims to the hospital for treatment, the farm owner reported the event to the police.

Inspector Abednico Ncube, a police spokeswoman for Bulawayo, confirmed the incident and advised farmers to tighten security at their farm compounds.

We commend the public for providing police with information that resulted in the capture of two robbers, and we make an appeal for information that might reveal the whereabouts of the robbers who remain at large.
