Kevin De Bruyne, the Manchester City playmaker, has "trained good," according to Pep Guardiola, ahead of Saturday's Premier League matchup against Leeds United at the Etihad Stadium.
After starring in City's 4-1 victory over title rivals Arsenal just over a week ago, the 31-year-old suffered a leg injury. He has since missed City's last two victories against Fulham and West Ham United.
De Bruyne participated in team training on Thursday following the 3-0 victory over the Hammers, and Guardiola has provided a positive update on his condition ahead of City's busy fixture schedule.
Guardiola stated at a press conference on Friday, "[] De Bruyne] prepared yesterday. He prepared great. Today we will prepare and we will choose (if he can play against Leeds) in the wake of preparing.
Even though De Bruyne has only just recovered from an injury and is focused on Real Madrid's Champions League semi-final matchup on Tuesday, Guardiola has also said that selecting him in the starting lineup is "not a problem."
A one-week or ten-day absence is not a problem; Nathan [Ake] experienced the same thing. He will play if he is healthy."
The Citizens will gain a lot from De Bruyne's update because the playmaker had another great season in all competitions, scoring nine goals and providing 22 assists in 42 games.
One of the most remarkable changes to Guardiola's beginning setup in the success over West Ham was the consideration of goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, who kept a spotless sheet on his Head Association debut to the detriment of Ederson.
After the game, Guardiola said that Ederson needed to rest, but the Brazilian could play against Leeds on Saturday again.
With the Premier League title race reaching a thrilling climax and a Champions League semi-final next on the agenda, Guardiola claims he is unable to make sweeping changes or rest players.
He stated, "I'm thinking in terms of how there are a lot of games with a lot of tension."
"I see the group truly drained subsequent to requesting games against Fulham and West Ham.
"We must see how the players recover again after only three days in the previous games."
"My choice will be centered around how physical and mental they play.
“Going four points ahead of Arsenal in the Premier League is so nice and important after Madrid. incredibly crucial. Tomorrow is our main concern.
"Everyone must be prepared, as everyone's contribution will be significant. Parts or few moments."
He also asked if he would rest Rodrigo and said, "Yes." We see today. I need to see at the instructional course. We'll find out.
He likewise affirmed Ederson could return against Sam Allardyce's side, saying: " He is prepared to play the same way he did against West Ham.
