Aston Villa may be closing in on Mateu Alemany, Barcelona's director of football, according to Unai Emery.
He will depart at the end of the current campaign, and Villa is predicted to be his final destination, according to the LaLiga leaders.
As Villa Park wants to advance, it will be the final piece Emery needs to complete the picture.
"If Mateu Alemany comes here because it is a possibility, it will be a really excellent opportunity to develop a strong structure with him," he added. "Mateu Alemany is a person with experiences. He has worked at a high level.It is not the appropriate time to discuss potential conditions or expectations regarding visitors. We discussed the goal we wanted to set for the future when I was committed with the chairman Nassef (Sawiris) and with Wes (Edens).

After the midweek results, Villa slumped to seventh, but they are still in the running for a surprise European spot as they travel to Wolves on Saturday.
Emery is aware that the caliber of players the club may recruit this summer may suffer if they do not make it to Europe, but this will not alter his ultimate objective.
He replied, "Maybe, yeah, but it is not changing the opinion I have, the notion we discussed.
"We want to establish a strong mentality and structure here. A team must be formed much like a family. If we are in Europe, we will have more opportunities to win trophies and play more games, which in my opinion will be excellent.
Even if it does not happen this year, my plan and goal remain the same: I want to play with Aston Villa in Europe. I want to play with Aston Villa in the Champions League in addition to merely playing in Europe.
Matty Cash, Leon Bailey, Boubacar Kamara, and Philippe Coutinho have all started training again and might play a part at Molineux.
