Due to injuries, the goalkeeper will miss the remainder of the campaign.
Dean Henderson's season was curtailed by thigh surgery, thus Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper is unable to tell whether he would work with the goalie once more in the future.
Henderson, who has spent the season on loan at Manchester United, sustained an injury in January that has prevented him from playing, and this week he had surgery to finally fix the issue.
In order to play regularly for the first team, the 26-year-old is likely to want to leave Old Trafford in the summer. Whether that happens at Forest will largely rely on whether they are in the Premier League or not.
When asked if he would like to work with Henderson again, Cooper was hesitant because Forest's future was uncertain heading into the season's last four games.
"Tough to say. We have all appreciated Dean and his charisma; I have enjoyed working with him, he remarked.
"When he is in goal, all you really see of him, but there is more to him than that. We have truly liked working with him and are appreciative of what he has provided to us and will continue to give to us. He is a very good professional, he cares deeply, and he has a terrific mentality of winning and wanting to be the best.
He will still be present and readily apparent. The medical teams are collaborating with United and ourselves to determine what is best for him and how we should contribute. When Dean moved here and made it his permanent headquarters for the loan, it was clear that he truly wanted to be a part of it both on and off the field. Dean is on loan from Manchester United, but he genuinely bought into the football club and the community.
“Although it is unfortunate that his season has undoubtedly come to an end due to surgery, he must now concentrate on his rehabilitation. He has shown us great commitment even though he hasn't been available in the last several months.
