Even extending Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp's five-match winning streak will not likely have an impact on the top-four teams they are pursuing, and Klopp anticipates missing out on Champions League football next season.

Due to Wednesday's victory against Fulham and Manchester United's late loss to Brighton, there are now four points separating fourth place in the Premier League from fifth.

United, on the other hand, has a game left to play and has a chance to pass Newcastle, who are ahead by two points. Liverpool, meanwhile, is under pressure from Brighton, who are four points behind them but have two games left to play.

Positions for other teams are significantly better. We have no chance as long as they keep winning, and we need to keep teams behind us, which is not always possible, according to Klopp.

We have 59 points, while United has 63, thus we can get a maximum of 71 points. United needs eight points in five, or eight points, out of fifteen. They probably will do it.The last three games are won by them, therefore that is it for us.

The team is having its finest run in more than a year, but flaws are once again beginning to show.

Thiago Alcantara, a midfielder, is having surgery on a problematic hip issue to ensure he is ready for preseason, while captain Jordan Henderson might not make it to Brentford on Saturday.

After being sidelined for two months due to his issue, Thiago made a brief recovery in April. However, he has missed the last two games, and the club has determined that it is better for him to address the issue right away.

"Thiago will undergo surgery and miss the remainder of the campaign. It is the same problem that kept him out for a few months lately, according to Klopp.

The manager continued, "Yeah. He will be ready for preseason. This is the reason we act now.

Henderson's scan findings are awaited by Liverpool, although due to the slight issue, he might miss Brentford's visit.

"I need to see Hendo; a scan from yesterday will not be a big deal, but it might be enough to rule him out tomorrow."
