Liverpool is prepared for an important summer of transformation. James Milner, Naby Keita, Roberto Firmino, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and veteran goalkeeper Adrian are all without contracts, thus Klopp plans to sign a slew of new players.
Mason Mount of Chelsea is one such target; the England international is highly regarded at Anfield and would be eager to work under Klopp given that his style and character fit in perfectly with how the Liverpool manager sees the game. After Liverpool pulled out of the race to sign Jude Bellingham, who was headed to Real Madrid, Klopp was determined that Liverpool would maximize their ability to invest. They have developed plans to bring the targets they need on board as quickly as possible.
World Cup champion Alexis Mac Allister of Brighton, Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich, who the Germans are unwilling to let leave, and Matheus Nunes of Wolves, in whom Liverpool has had an ongoing 12-month interest, also figure heavily on the wanted list.
None of this will be cheap, and given how eagerly Liverpool wants to sign midfielders, it raises the question of whether selling clubs will impose a "tax" on them. However, Klopp is unfazed and will not hesitate to change objectives if a premium is added to the price when they come calling.
When asked what would happen if Liverpool's transfer fees increased, Klopp responded, "We cannot buy the player then." We are unable to do it if they are pricey. Players will be brought in. I have a good feeling that we'll get the players we want and the people who can help. I have some faith in that.
You won't know for sure until they're signed, but it's not unusual for certain clubs to try to drive up prices. In other words, you identify a position and have more than one alternative for that role. That implies that they need should all be excellent—to be honest, very excellent—and that you can have a favorite.
