A well-known pastor has been brought before the Takoradi Circuit Court in Ghana's Western Region for getting his church member's wife pregnant. Onyame Akoa Jude Nana Kwame Sarpong, the founder and senior pastor of the Takoradi-based El-Shaddai Outreach Ministry Church, is the preacher in question and the defendant in the case.
He is accused of having an affair with the wife of a churchgoer and then refusing to be responsible for the kid. The complainant, Regina Ankrah, was brought to the church in 2014 by his then-fiancé. Regina Ankrah lives in Diabene, a neighborhood in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis. The pastor was required for counseling as the couple prepared to wed because he would be the one to bless their union.
The pastor noticed the soon-to-be bride of one of his church members and began to pour out predictions that the marriage she is about to enter will not be successful since the woman is already spiritually wedded to the father.
He informed the woman that in order to be free from the spiritual marriage, he would like her to follow some spiritual instructions. The woman complied and accompanied the preacher to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. The pastor decided to accompany her because she was going to officially tell her spiritual father about her marriage there.
The pastor got the initial lead and enticed the woman to a hotel in Kumasi. The woman was shocked to learn that the pastor had instructed him to pursue a relationship with her. He persuaded her, and they had a hotel encounter. The woman and her husband's wedding was just one week away when this happened. Pastor Jude Nana Sarpong responded following the run-in.advised the woman that they would need to follow a similar plan at a later date. At this point, Regina Ankrah, the plaintiff, started to feel afraid and ask why the defendant, a pastor, would go so far as to have a sexual relationship with her in the guise of spiritual guidance.
In the end, the wedding took place in the same church. The pastor who entertained the lady and her bridesmaids at his mission home had an affair with her once again the night before the wedding. The wedding took place the next day.
And the woman and her husband left for home. Even after their marriage, his relationship with the married woman continued, and he had several encounters with her.
