Real Madrid are aiming for the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna this weekend. Needless to say, this is a very important match for coach Carlo Ancelotti's army. They can forget their league disappointment by winning the silver title. However, the big games still come for Los Blancos.
Just three days later, they will take on Manchester City at the Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final. And it's supposed to be an even bigger game.
Manchester City have been in good form recently and are aiming to win the treble this season. It's hard to remember the last time Real Madrid lost a draw and won the Champions League 14 times. So it is very difficult to choose a favorite tie in this tie and everything will be very tight.
There is good news for Manchester City ahead of the game, however, as it looks like Kevin De Bruyne is getting closer to fitness. According to a report on the club's official website, Pep Guardiola said of the Belgian's situation:
"He trained yesterday and (very) well. He will train today, and we will decide.
"He's been out for a week or 10 days and at this point in the season it doesn't matter. Like Nathan - if he's healthy, he can play.
De Bruyne's injury information before the match against Real Madrid
De Bruyne is one of the best players in the world. He's been injured recently and if he gets fit before the match against Real Madrid it will certainly be a huge boost for Manchester City. The two teams also met at the same stage of the competition last season. Taking this opportunity, Real Madrid won in a dramatic way. Rodrygo scored in the 90th and 91st minutes of the second leg to send the game into extra time, where Karim Benzema scored the winner.
On this occasion, it will be interesting to see how things turn out. Manchester City have Erling Haaland this time around and if Real Madrid want to reach the final they will have to find a way to stop the Norwegian. Easier said than done.
