Hugo Lloris, the captain of Tottenham, will miss the remainder of current season due to a thigh injury.
Lloris has not played since being replaced at halftime of Tottenham's 6-1 thumping of Newcastle, and with only one year left on his contract, there are now questions over whether he will ever play again for the team.
Prior to Saturday's match against Crystal Palace, interim head coach Ryan Mason of Spurs announced that Hugo was out for the season.
We received the outcomes. Obviously frustrating, but to be honest, we kind of anticipated that. He will not play for us this season after we conducted more examinations.
"I can not comment about the upcoming season, but I can say that he will play a crucial part for us through the end of the current one. We require him. He must join the team, and I have no doubt that he will.
On the examination table with Lloris are Emerson Royal (ankle), Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring), Yves Bissouma (ankle), and Yves Bissouma.
Emerson and Bissouma received good news from Mason, but Sessegnon will not play again this year, and Bentancur will be out for a while as he recovers from anterior cruciate ligament injuries.
Mason said of Bissouma: "We are hopeful he will appear before the end of the season, but there are obviously some hurdles he has to overcome and to hit some certain goals."Ryan will not play again this season due to a serious injury that has kept him out for a lengthy period.
Emerson, I believe it is a daily assessment of how he is doing. Emerson might be able to assist us up until the end of the current season.
When Emerson is fully fit again, there is a greater chance that the Spurs will switch back to the back four that Mason employed when serving as interim manager before.
On Friday, he made a tactical move before Palace's visit seem possible, and he began his news conference by congratulating the club's under-18 team.
