Newcastle boss responds to Ronaldo & Neymar transfer links
Recent rumors claim that CR7 is already thinking about his future with Al Nassr, and a switch to the Saudi-supported Magpies has been proposed.
Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, has downplayed reports that superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar are interested in joining the Premier League team.
Howe claimed in a press conference on Friday that the club's financial situation prevented it from luring high-profile players with large salaries like Ronaldo and Neymar.
The Magpies manager asserted, "I believe that sort of speculative has been there from day one since the takeover really."
Naturally, everyone thought that the biggest stars in football would visit Newcastle. Currently, we haven't recruited in that fashion, and it wouldn't be financially feasible for us to do so. However, we still need to add the proper players to the team.
“I will say the transfer market is such a complex decision there’s a lot of thought needed. You can’t just pick a name there has to be a lot of thought going into both financially and looking into players.”
Despite signing a world-record deal to play for Al Nassr until 2025 in January, Ronaldo allegedly wants out – as per the latest media reports anyway.
Georgina Rodriguez, Ronaldo's partner, reportedly wants to move back to Madrid, according to El Nacional. The Portuguese legend is welcome to return to Real Madrid, but only as an ambassador, not as a player.
However, Ronaldo is currently concentrating on Monday's home match against Khaleej FC. Al Nassr enters the contest needing the victory. With five games remaining, they are now three points behind Al-Ittihad, who are leading the Saudi Pro League.
with Newcastle being favourites for the top four for this season meaning they would be going to the champions league it was rumoured that if they were able to qualify Ronaldo would be loaned to Newcastle since they are owned by the same companies.
