Sean Dyche expressed concern last week that some of his players were being held back as they battled to keep their Premier League status.

Idrissa Gueye thinks that in Monday's Premier League draw at Leicester, Everton shown the perseverance they will need to avoid relegation.

Everton gained an early lead but later fell behind 2-1 and needed Jordan Pickford to save a James Maddison penalty before Alex Iwobi's equalizer earned a draw. The game had been dubbed "loser goes down" by some.

Everton had 23 shots on goal, their most in a Premier League game in three and a half years. Manager Sean Dyche has been eager to highlight the performance, and Gueye said it was something to build on ahead of Monday's trip to Brighton at a time when confidence has been shaky.

On the club website, he stated, "I think confidence is an important factor during this period of the season and it's something we can continue to cultivate and work on." "Because the games left to play will require a lot of confidence.

There aren't many instances where we've fallen down in the scoreline and managed to fight back to get a result, especially when looking back on the season. To do that, you need character, and I believe we displayed a lot of it against Leicester.

"We are aware that it is difficult, but we must demonstrate our resolve and confidence in ourselves. Positive results are bred by confidence.

Dyche expressed worry last week that some of his players' anxieties and tension were getting in the way of their efforts to keep their Premier League status.

All players, according to Gueye, are accustomed to performing under pressure, but the situation is unmistakably different at the bottom of the standings.

It would be much more enjoyable, he continued, if we were competing for trophies at the end of the season and further up the table. "As players, we enjoy pushing our limits and experiencing pressure.
