Sergio Aguero, a legendary former striker for Manchester City, is reportedly being investigated for allegedly inciting violence against a referee during a Twitch live stream.

The 34-year-old had to put his football boots away in December 2021 after experiencing a heart arrhythmia while playing for Barcelona two months earlier. He had signed a two-year contract with the Catalan giants from City in May of that year.

Since his retirement, Aguero has developed a reputation for being an outspoken individual. He once engaged in a public argument with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and he has also become a well-liked gaming personality on Twitch.

He frequently broadcasts live and addresses football-related issues to large audiences, but recently experienced another heart scare while broadcasting with Ibai Llanos.

Fortunately, Aguero was unharmed, but it appears that his most recent outburst against a penalty call in Independiente's match against Racing Club last month has put him in trouble.

The Agency for the Prevention of Violence in Sport is looking into Aguero, according to the Spanish daily AS, after he questioned the reliability of official Yael Falcon Perez.

Aguero is said to have stated, "How can he, the referee, what the f**k is his name...Yael Falcon Perez."

"Hear me out, Yael Falcon; that name is a catastrophe. You can remark that [the punishment] "begins outside and ends inside." He continues, though, by saying that the foul is called where the first contact occurs. He's actually prepared to kick this fathead in the s**t, that much is true.

Following the announcement that Aguero was under investigation, an official statement read: "Comments made by the former soccer player, Sergio Leonel Aguero, have come out in the media, about the work carried out by the referee Yael Falcon Perez in the match in question, in which there was a disputed play that resulted in a penalty in favor of the visiting club,' said the agency head Eduardo Aparicio.
