Jay Bahd was previously nominated for Best Collaboration of the Year with sore feat, according to a report from myjoyonline.com.
The scheme defines the Best New Artiste as the most promising and talented emerging artist(s), as determined by the Academy, Board, and the General Public. The honor is given to an artist who is relatively new and has only released a single EP or album during the year being considered.
"Jay Bahd's inclusion in the Best New Artiste category is one of the submissions that has drawn significant public interest. After discussion, the Board determines that Jay Bahd is not a newcomer to the program due to his joint nomination for Collaboration of the Year in 2021 for Yaw Tog's "Sore."
This indicates that he is ineligible to be a nominee for the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards' Best New Artiste category. Jay Bahd and his team have been informed that the error has been fixed. We deeply regret the inconvenience, the statement said.
At this year's event, which is scheduled to take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, May 6, Jay Bahd, real name Jackson Kwadwo Bawuah, was nominated in the category of New Artiste of the Year alongside performers like Ewura Abena, Lasmid, Chief One, DJ Azonto, Malcolm Nuna, and DJay.
The 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards' grand finale is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, 2023.
