Erik ten Hag took a hit for his transfer plans after knocking out Antony

Manchester United are hoping to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to Brighton at West Ham on Sunday night.

The Red Devils have fallen behind in the race for the top 4 but will most likely win a place in the Champions League. Boss Erik ten Hag noticed the transfer window, but he was dealt a blow when he planned.

The blow came when Ten Hag presented a shortlist to a striker and the Dutchman warned Antony to control his emotions. Here, Mirror Football summarizes the latest news about Manchester United.

Ten Hag lands a transfer kick

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has received a blow to his summer transfer plans. The Dutchman is keen to sign a striker in the upcoming transfer window, as Wout Weghorst prepares to return to Burnley.

One of the men on his shopping list for the job is Victor Osimhen, who sacked Napoli to win the Serie A title this season. This was the club's first Scudetto since 1990, with Osimhen's form attracting interest from many clubs, including United. But Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has now turned to rubbish suggestions that the Serie A champions are open to selling. He told Rai Sport:

"I'm not selling Victor Osimhen this summer - no way!"

Harry Kane tops Ten Hag's shopping list for summer window

Reds boss Ten Hag has drawn up a shortlist of six players as he looks to bring in a star striker this summer. MU's squad clearly lacks a world-class leader to complement Marcus Rashford. Topping the Dutchman's shopping list is Tottenham star Harry Kane, with the Englishman's contract entering its final year. However, Ten Hag is preparing alternatives, with Osimhen being one of the prominent names, although he is now retired.

Eintracht Frankfurt star Randal Kolo Muani is also having an impressive season alongside Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund. The final two names are World Cup hero Goncalo Ramos and Ajax star Mohammed Kudus.

Antoine sends a warning

Antony was booted to keep his emotions in check after confronting Lewis Dunk in United's loss to Brighton. Boss Ten Hag has urged the Brazilian to calm down after boiling temperatures at Amex Stadium.

"Passion is a power. Of course, to a certain extent, you have to control it. You need to have passion and desire to win matches," Ten Hag said ahead of Sunday's clash. with West Ham.

"It's been very powerful for him and he's very ambitious. Don't abuse it:

focus on your game and what the game needs. If he can do that, he's a great player. I think his improvement is pretty obvious and obvious."
