Ruth Innocent, a National Youth Service volunteer who rose to fame online after sharing photos of herself and her tall companion, has expressed concern that his family would not accept her.
In a dialogue, the University of Calabar alumnus expressed her ideas while recalling how they had first met at the Bayelsa State NYSC orientation center before she was subsequently moved to Delta State.
Ruth claims that at first they were not friends but grew close when he supported her on his shoulder so she could see better during a camp activity.
As she put it;
In camp, we started receiving favors and attention. People began referring to us as a couple. Those that we encountered at the market gave us discounts. We received special treatment. I grew to like him to the point where I would phone to check on him whenever I was outside my hostel and wasn't able to spot him. As I got to know him more, I began giving him the OK. We stayed in touch after leaving the camp and made the decision to treat the relationship seriously. We couldn't see each other, so I called to stay in touch.
I had a phone conversation with his sister. I talked to his pals as well. My main concern is that his family won't accept me due to my height, but I firmly believe that love overcomes anything. However, I don't believe that his height is a concern for me because I have always desired a partner who is taller than me so that our children won't be too little.
It would make sense for his family to give consideration to Philip, someone who completes him and with whom he shares a future. They could think I'm short, but there are women who aren't, yet they still exhibit the qualities he seeks in a woman.
Some people could assume that a woman's lack of height makes her unsuitable for a man, so they concentrate on the one percent—her height—while ignoring the other 99 percent, which might include humility and a fear of God. People shouldn't pay attention to height; it shouldn't be a concern. They ought to concentrate on other things.
